Where we are Lighting the Darkness
Join The Samaritan Women and those around the country who are working to shine a light on human trafficking. We are calling on all churches, businesses, and individuals to light the way for those looking to heal from trafficking.
Please accept our gratitude and sincere thanks! Your partnership was critical in expanding awareness on the issue of human trafficking.
With your help, The Samaritan Women (TSW) spent the month of January lighting the darkness for victims of domestic human trafficking and raising awareness about the lack of services available to survivors. With an estimated 200,000 children exploited each year in America – and only 192 shelter homes throughout the country to serve this vulnerable population, our work does not end February 1st. (Data December, 2020)
Thank you for sharing your pictures, joining the Simulcast and being present for those who struggle each day to heal from the darkness of being exploited and abused.
If you missed the January 27th Simulcast, click here. It was an evening filled with hope and inspiration! There is still time to send your photos to Lightthedarkness@instituteforsheltercare.org.
Our Mission continues each day and we hope you will continue being a partner, advocate, and supporter of our efforts. Thank you!

Continue to Shine a Light on Social Media!
Get creative with your photos and light up social media each day during 2021 to continue shining the light. Use the hashtag #lightthedarkness and show others that you continue to walk with The Samaritan Women and share our vision that any survivor, anywhere in the nation, will have access to qualified, compassionate care.
Ignite Your Personal Commitment!
Join The Samaritan Women and walk with those who are battling back from the scars of being trafficked. Let survivors know that you stand with them as they journey from darkness to light. The ravages of this crime continue well beyond the 31 days of January – continue to stand with us as well advocate for those enslaved – let them know that you will light their way back 365 days a year until the issue of human trafficking ends.
