Praying across America:

For hope and healing for all those impacted by sexual exploitation

We believe in the power of prayer

At the Institute for Shelter Care we believe that prayer is the most important action that our community of supporters can take to address the issue of sexual exploitation. This year we are praying for all those impacted by exploitation all across America. We will pray that God brings healing to survivors and provides strength and perseverance for those in the fight against sexual exploitation. We will also pray for redemption for the perpetrators (buyers and sellers).

In February we will focus our prayers on Las Vegas, Nevada. Events like the Super bowl and Derby draw attention to the issue of domestic sex trafficking, as these high visibility events may coincide with law enforcement actions that result in arrests and or stings related to sexual exploitation.

  • Please pray for the victims and survivors of sexual exploitation. Pray God protects, heals, and brings them to a relationship with Him.
  • Ask the Lord to protect the vulnerable and give them the wisdom to recognize those who would cause them harm.
  • Pray for the law enforcement in Las Vegas. Ask that they have the wisdom to recognize the signs of sexual exploitation, rescue those that need to be rescued, and use their resources to fight against those committing this crime.
  • Pray for the nonprofits in the area. Pray for the staff and volunteers in these organizations.
  • Pray for the local shelters and their staff and volunteers:

  • Refuge for Women Las Vegas (Emergency, Restorative, and Transitional Programs)
  • Hookers for Jesus (Destiny House – Restoration Program)
  • Awaken (Restoration Program)
  • The Embracing Project (Canyon View Transitional Program)

Given our focus this month, we have invited Vince Antonucci, Pastor and author in Las Vegas, Nevada to lead us in prayer.
